SRC
Money
As human beings we always find ways to try to make our lives better by making brilliant discoveries. We went from walking to cars and airplanes as a way of transportation which make our lives better. One of the best discoveries that have been made is the positive effects of working out to be fit. Working out improves your body, it increases you energy level, it increases serotonin in the brain, which leads to improved mental clarity and many more. The Student Recreation Center is a gym Csun offers that helps us become fit. It’s a huge building that offers a variety of activities to help people be fit. Work out such as treadmills which help you lose weight and calories, three basketball courts that could also be used to volleyball and pickle ball. It has Four High Definition TVs where games are shown on a daily basis so customers can come work out every day without worrying about missing a game. The SRC provide a nutritional program where they show you what kinds of food are proper for a good health. They have ping pong tables and the latest music played every day. The SRC provide a lot of cool stuff that are useful and a lot of useless items to help you stay in shape but they attract more customers. Los Angeles is all about money. People are willing to do anything to get rich because they want to live in Hollywood or the other rich neighborhoods. The purpose of creating the SRC was not to help SRC students become more fit but they found that it was another way to take money from students since gyms are becoming quite popular these days. Csun doesn’t provide as many classes as it did in the past as a result of the budget cuts. Professors are getting laid off or teaching fewer classes and some students couldn’t even enroll in one single class because Csun is running out of money and yet they had plenty of money to build a gym that’s less important than people’s education. The gym fee is included in our tuition which means it’s not up to us to decide if we want to pay for the gym or not. They bought a bunch of TVs which does nothing but distract people trying to work out instead of helping them focus on their exercises. They use TV as a way to attract more people to come to the gym so people wouldn’t flake coming because they were going to miss an NFL game or NBA game; the more people coming, the more Csun is going to invest in. The money used to buy TV’s could have been used for something more important. LA is a city where people are so blinded with fame and money thirst. The SRC represents LA where everything is about money even if it means crossing the line; nothing is what it seems to be in LA. I’m from Congo and where I’m from, people love to watch movies about LA to get an idea of how LA is like and dream about living there one day because it’s known for the notorious number of celebrities and supposedly all the beautiful neighborhoods surrounding it; In movies LA is portrayed almost like heaven, it’s a place where celebrities live in; everyone is rich and everything is beautiful but all the poor and ghetto parts of it are left out of the picture. The movie producers make their money and don’t care about anything else. LA is a city where a lot of things are fake which helped me open my eyes wide and think deeper about everything Monday, March 5, 2012
sacred
Sacred
the chapter sacred is a about spaces that has a deep significance to a population or a group of people or individuals. when people
think of sacred places they think of church, a religious place or
somewhere people died. it could be somewhere where someone finds peace
or comfort.
there is a picture of a group of teenagers boys smoking weed in the car. the car
is a sacred place for the teenagers because it's where the find peace and relax. it's
a place where they to take their mind away from any stress.
In the poem by Stehpen Dunn. a teacher asked his students what
where their sacred place. some kids mentioned their cars. some their hiding place.
sacred places doesn't have be a public place or a religious place.
it can be anywhere that's really meaningful to a person
